Tirzepatide

Eli Lilly is seeking approval from the FDA for an antidiabetes medication called Tirzepatide as an Antiobese medication

According to a new study, which the drug maker sponsored, subjects that took the medication, known under the brand name Mounjaro(Tirzepatide), for 72 weeks lost 15.7% of their body weight when utilizing it alongside diet and exercise.

A study funded by the drug maker showed that subjects who used Tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost 15.7% of their body weight over 72 weeks. While Tirzepatide can help people with diabetes lose weight, experts warn that the drug should be used with caution as it can be abused by those seeking quick weight loss solutions. The unintended use of similar drugs, like Semaglutide, for weight loss has led to shortages for patients who need them to manage their diabetes.

What is tirzepatide used for?

The drug is already in the market as an antidiabetic drug, and the FDA approved the drug to control diabetes sugar, especially the T2D patients

How is tirzepatide given :

This drug is given subcutaneously.

Storage :

Tirzepatide should be stored in a refrigerator between 2-8°C (36-46°F) until the expiration date on the carton. It should be protected from light and not frozen. Once the carton is opened, the tirzepatide can be stored at room temperature (below 25°C or 77°F) for up to 28 days.
